Alta Vista Sewer Rehabilitation Project

The Resort Municipality of Whistler (RMOW) would like to advise the community that it has commenced a sanitary sewer rehabilitation project to rectify deterioration of a section of existing sanitary sewer piping and manholes.

Construction will take place along Saint Anton Way and Archibald Way between Blueberry Drive and Carleton way. The RMOW would like to assure residents that access to all residential properties will be maintained during construction. There may, however, be delays resulting in single lane alternating traffic and the Valley Trail may be closed during construction.

This rehabilitation project is being scheduled for this fall and will extend the expected life of this section of sewer an additional 50 years. The proposed work will involve bypass pumping of the sewage during the process of relining the existing sewer main and manholes.

In addition, there are a few residents along Archibald Way whose sewer service is connected to that portion of the trunk main that is being relined and they will be asked to refrain from using their water for a short period of time (not to exceed 12 hours). Notice will be provided to these residents at least 48 hours in advance.
