The Whistler Adaptive Sports Program will be hosting 40 injured Allied soldiers from four different countries for a week-long camp from February 27 to March 8.

December 18, 2012: Whistler, BC – Now is the perfect time to get those skates sharpened, pull on your helmet or toque and get ready for some free family skating at the new permanent ice skating rink at Whistler Olympic Plaza. The rink officially opens at 2 p.m. on Thursday, December 20 with a ribbon cutting ceremony with Mayor Nancy Wilhelm-Morden and a performance by the Whistler Skating Club. Cupcakes will be served at 2:30 p.m. with free skate rentals available from 2:30 p.m. to 4 pm. The facility will also be open that evening from 6 p.m. to 9 p.m.

The Barenaked Ladies return to play a free concert in Whistler Olympic Plaza from 8:15pm to 10pm on Sunday, August 21. Local rockers, Brother Twang, will open for them at 7pm. Remember to dress warmly for evening concerts as it can get cold once the sun drops behind the mountains.
The Whistler Presents Concert Series is part of a variety of free entertainment taking place throughout Whistler this summer, including performances by international artists, family-friendly street entertainment and sport and culture events.
The 2012 RBC GranFondo Whistler will bring 7,000 cyclists on an epic journey from downtown Vancouver, along the Sea to Sky highway and through Squamish to finish in Whistler on Blackcomb Way. The route features breathtaking views of Howe Sound and challenging climbs through the Coast Mountain Range.
