June 1st, 2010 to August 31st, 2010

Animating the paths of Whistler Village, performers from the Sea to Sky Corridor and touring artists from across Canada provide free, family-friendly interactive entertainment like juggling, circus acts, music, bike stunts, dancing and acrobatics. www.whistlerartscouncil.com

Phat Wednesdays Freeride Series
June 23rd, 2010 to August 25th, 2010

Head to the Whistler Mountain Bike Park every second Wednesday for a downhill race similar to the Toonie Rides. Each race takes place on a different trail or course so you never know what you’re going to get. All ages and skill levels welcome. Après at the GLC. Sign in at 5:00 pm.

Women’s Nights at Whistler Mountain Bike Park
July 1st, 2010 to August 31st, 2010

Every Monday and Wednesday, grab your best girls and hit the Bike Park for an estrogen-fuelled ride — no boys allowed. All levels of experience are welcome. Get discounts on rentals and learn from an experienced guide. Afterwards, bond over bevvies at the GLC après. 6:00 pm to 8:00 pm.

ArtWalk
July 1st, 2010 to August 31st, 2010

This 7th annual free two-month walking tour features regional artists and artisans in host galleries throughout Whistler Village including cafes, retail outlets, hotels and restaurants. Artists from Lions Bay to Lillooet showcase works of painting, photography, multi-media, fibre arts, sculpture, pottery and jewellery. Visit Whistler Arts Council for more information

Whistler Farmers' Market
August 1st, 2010 to August 29th, 2010

The Whistler Farmer’s Market returns to the pedestrian streets of the Upper Village (near the Fairmont Chateau Whistler) every Sunday this summer, featuring local produce from the Pemberton Valley and beyond, tasty artisan foods, live cooking demos by Whistler Chefs and live music. Choose from a selection of crafts, organic and local produce, jams, honey, baked goods, jewellery and much more. The market runs every Sunday from 11:00 am until 4:00 pm. www.whistlerfarmersmarket.org.

Whistler Art Workshops on the Lake
August 1st, 2010 to August 31st, 2010

The Whistler Art Workshops on the Lake features two to four day workshops from beginner to intermediate level instruction in oil, acrylic and watercolour painting, sketching and life drawing. The program is inspired by the beautiful mountain environment of Whistler and Alta Lake Station House, the rustic heritage home located on Alta Lake waterfront with views of Whistler, Blackcomb and Wedge Mountain. The classes run from 9:00 am to approximately 4:00 pm each day.

Intermediate Acrylics with David Langevin - August 5 & 6
Beginner Watercolour with Grant Fuller - August 11, 12 & 13
The Art of Drawing with Isobel MacLaurin - August 14 & 15

Feast in the Mountains
August 1st, 2010

Feast in the Mountains showcases BC's culinary bounty by transforming  Whistler’s Rebagliati  Park into a roaming gourmet sampling of local foods. Spend a summer’s afternoon amidst the Coast Mountains, wander the park and savour the creations of BC’s best. Visit each vendor booth comprising of award-winning chefs, farmers, food artisans, vintners and brewers for a sampling of their offerings. Feast in the Mountains raises funds for FarmFolk/CityFolk. LUNA Flick: Perfume: The Story of a Murderer
August 4th, 2010

Head to Lost Lake Park for dinner and a movie, Whistler-style. LUNAFLIKS is a film screening under the stars, complete with a BBQ and popcorn. All you need to bring is a blanket! Based on the German international bestseller by Patrick Suskind, Perfume is the story of an olfactory genius on the hunt for the ultimate perfume. Tickets are $7, popcorn is $3 and dinner and a drink is $5. BYO mug for coffee or water. FREE shuttles leave the gondolas from 8:30 to 10:00 pm and return after the film. Please note Lost Lake Park is alcohol and smoke free.

Mountain Bike Toonie Rides
August 5th, 2010 to August 26th, 2010

Toonie Rides are a great way to have fun, explore the trails, get some exercise and socialize with the coolest club in Whistler. Organized by WORCA, Whistler's Off Road Cycling Association, the rides take place on a different course each week and end with a complimentary après sponsored by a local Whistler business. Riders must be WORCA members and rides are open to all abilities. Every Thursday until September 16, 5:30 pm sign-in. Check out the season schedule and become a WORCA member.

Function Block pARTy
August 6th, 2010

The Function Block pARTy brings ArtWalkers to Function to view additional galleries and artists studios. Follow the crowds as they wander throughout Function Junction and visit participating venues with local art, entertainment and refreshments. www.whistlerartscouncil.com

Ken Quon Memorial / BC Cup Finals
August 8th, 2010

An event featuring family fun, excitement and competitive challenge with 5 different riding events all at the same time on the Lost Lake trail system: a traditional family ride on the wide Lost Lake trails, a WORCA Toonie-style race, RE/MAX Corridor Cup Challenge - a two-member team event for all levels of cross-country riders, and the Citizens XC Mountain Bike Race. Deraylor Music Festival
August 11th, 2010 to August 13th, 2010

Featuring more than 40 bands and DJs from around the world, this festival ramps up the Kokanee Crankworx party vibe from August 11-13. A $40 wristband will get you into all the venues and nightspots. The line-up includes acts like DJ Nu-Mark, MIKE RELM, BCDC, Fort Knox Five, Jelo, Marcus Visionary, Felix Cartal, DJ BTraits, Kyprios, Vinyl Ritchie, Said the Whale, Hannah Georgas, Mishka, illScarlett, and more. Canadian Cheese Rolling Festival
August 14th, 2010

Canadian cheese rolling returns to Blackcomb Mountain for another day of chasing an 11-pound cheese wheel down the hill, with the winner scoring a 2010/2011 season's pass to Whistler Blackcomb! Events include mens and womens heats along with kids uphill races in between, family activities, games and tasting seminars. Slow Food Cycle Sunday
August 15th, 2010

Sea to Sky’s signature agritourism event, Slow Food Cycle Sunday Pemberton blows the fast-food drive-through away. A pedal-powered trip through the natural buffet that is Pemberton Meadows farmland, to meet local growers and sample produce fresh from the field, Slow Food Cycle is: good for your carbon credits, flat and scenic and ride-able for all ages and levels of fitness, and a sensory smorgasbord.
