Youth Centre
The YC (Whistler's Youth Centre) first opened its doors 10 years ago to respond to the community's growing need for a safe and welcoming place that local and visiting youth could claim as their own. The YC is a place where youth (aged 13-18) are treated with respect, where new friendships are made, and where existing friendships are fortified.
Check out the YC today!
Looking for a safe environment to hang with friends or make new ones? The YC offers a variety of programs, services and activities to suit all interests. Whether you’re looking for a casual environment to meet up with friends, a spot to try out your latest skate board tricks on the mini ramp or box, or a place to challenge your friends to a game of pool or foosball, the YC is the place for you! If gaming is more your thing, the YC is your gateway to PlayStation 3, Nintendo Wii, Xbox 360, widescreen TV, and free Internet access. For the foodies out there, the YC also has its own concession stand, and offers ice cream and free baked goods from a local eatery.
The Rules:
The rules are simple: all local and visiting youth are asked to respect themselves, respect others and respect the space. The YC always has two staff members on-site to monitor activities and provide assistance to visitors. It's a place staffed with people that can listen and relate, and, if need be, connect youth to more specific help.
