Whistler Presents Concert Series with 54-40

The RMOW is presenting free concerts and entertainment - including a performance by 54-40 - in Whistler Olympic Plaza to encourage RBC GranFondo Whistler fans to arrive early and the participants to stay the weekend.

RBC GranFondo Whistler is the largest GranFondo in Canada. In its second year, the 122-kilometre ride from Vancouver to Whistler on September 10, will bring more than 7,000 riders plus their families to the Sea to Sky Corridor. Riders will begin with a mass start at 7 a.m. in downtown Vancouver, travel over the Lions Gate Bridge and up Taylor Way to to Upper Levels Highway en route to Highway 99 through to Whistler and the finish line on Blackcomb Way beside Whistler Olympic Plaza.

Families and friends can get creative in showing their support by visiting the Cheer Station on Saturday morning. The craft station will be set up in Whistler Olympic Plaza providing fans with the supplies to create the best signs and cheerleading gear to show their support for the riders.

On Saturday, to celebrate the athletes' amazing achievement and keep the adrenaline rushing, 54-40 will hit the stage from 7 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. These legendary Vancouver rockers will be playing all their hits, providing everyone with a reason to dance and stay warm as the sun drops behind the mountains.
