Since its inception in 1991, the Whistler and Valley Express (WAVE) has been an outstanding success story, experiencing the largest ridership in British Columbia, after the cities of Vancouver and Victoria. It serves almost three million riders a year on 25 buses, half of which are low rider more easily accessible and efficient to operate.

Buses run from 5:30 a.m. to 3 a.m. every day and come with ski racks (and bike racks in summer). Limited service is extended to Pemberton and Mt. Currie. Passes are for sale at a variety of outlets in denominations of a one-day or 30-day pass or a five, 10, 20 ride Wave cards. For fare and schedule information call 604-932-4020 or check www.busonline.ca.  If you've lost an item on the bus, call 604-938-0388. Items are kept for 14 days. If you find an item on the bus, turn it in to the driver.

Free Village Shuttle Service
A free shuttle runs from the village to Marketplace (Village North) to the Upper Village loop, servicing Blackcomb Mountain base lodge. From June 25 through September 5, 2005, free service extends to Lost Lake Park, when parking private cars is prohibited. To encourage use of public transit and discourage travel in single occupant vehicles, the municipality offers free transit on important days throughout the year, including World Earth Day on April 22, Clean Air Day in June and New Year's Eve. Special events are planned throughout the year. Check this website frequently for deals.

For more information, e-mail transit at whistler.ca or call 604-935-8197.

Squamish-Whistler Commuter
The District of Squamish and the Resort Municipality of Whistler are once again offering limited commuter service to and from Squamish. The service is a combination of Greyhound Faresavers and passes. For routing and schedules, please click here.

Request a Stop
This convenient program is available to passengers after 9 p.m. on all WAVE transit buses. This service allows passengers who feel that their safety is at risk to ask their driver to stop between regular bus stops.

Request a Stop is easy. Simply inform your driver (at least one stop ahead) of where you wish to get off. Your driver will let you off as close to your requested stop as possible.

For safety reasons, passengers using wheelchairs or scooters may only stop at designated wheelchair-accessible bus stops.
