King 5 News Evening Magazine visits Whistler

King 5 News Seattle was in town this past week shooting news footage at various venues in Whistler. One of the locations they visited was Whistler Olympic Plaza. King 5 News caught up with Mayor Nancy Wilhelm-Morden to learn more about Skating at Olympic Plaza.

The Mayor explained how the RMOW transformed Whistler Olympic Plaza’s Great Lawn and Pavilion into skating rinks for the winter season offering residents and visitors alike a new outdoor experience within the heart of the village.

Nancy and her daughter skated on the pavilion and met a family who was visiting from Seattle and were skating for the first time as a family. It was truly a magical night for the little one and her parents as they enjoyed a frosty evening under the stars.

Skating at the Plaza has been a success since its implementation in mid December 2011.
