2011 financial statements released

Council received the 2011 audited financial statements for the Resort Municipality of Whistler (RMOW) as required by the Community Charter at its June 19 Council meeting. The draft 2011 financial statements were received and approved by the Finance and Audit Committee on May 10, 2012.  The 2011 statement of financial Information (SOFI) has also been released as required by the charter.

The financial statements of the municipality consolidate all of the funds and all of the companies owned by the municipality and include: the RMOW, General Fund, Water Fund, Sewer Fund, Solid Waste Fund, Whistler Village Land Co. Ltd., Whistler2020 Development Corp., Emerald Forest Lands, Emerald Forest Trust, 591003 BC Ltd., and the Whistler Housing Authority.

Every year the RMOW’s financial statements are audited by an independent firm, and every year the municipality has received a clean audit opinion.
