CAO presents Corporate Plan to council
July 3, 2012: Whistler, BC – Mike Furey, Chief Administrative Officer, presented council today with the 2012-2014 Resort Municipality of Whistler (RMOW) Corporate Plan, which will help guide strategic decision-making within the organization over the coming years.
This plan has been developed as one of the key deliverables recommended in Council’s 2012-2014 Action Plan to increase accountability and transparency with community members. It also provides the strategic basis for monitoring and reporting results, and articulates the roles and responsibilities of the organization.
The plan was developed with the input of all Resort Municipality of Whistler divisions, and establishes six goals related to corporate financial health, leadership and excellence in facility and infrastructure management, partnering to support exceptional resort experience, delivering exceptional customer service, establishing a high level of community trust, and protecting natural assets and ecological functions. These goals reflect both council and community priorities, and will help to focus and integrate strategies across the RMOW.
Along with the 2012-2016 Five-Year Financial Plan, the corporate plan will help to position the organization to continue to deliver excellence in municipal services, to manage our budget effectively within current economic constraints, and to position the resort for continued success.
