RMOW celebrates BC Family Day with a promotion on cross-country skiing, snow shoeing, skating and swimming
January 28, 2013: Whistler, BC – In celebration of the inaugural BC Family Day, the Resort Municipality of Whistler (RMOW) is encouraging families to enjoy cross-country skiing, snow shoeing, ice skating and indoor swimming through a special promotion at municipal facilities.
The promotion will take place on Monday, February 11 and is open to everyone, including BC residents as well as those from further afield. It encompasses:
- 50 per cent off day tickets at Lost Lake Cross-Country and Snowshoe Trails.
- 50 per cent off skate rentals for Skating at Whistler Olympic Plaza (admission is free).
- 50 per cent off family drop-in or all day admissions at Meadow Park Sports Centre.
“Enabling active lifestyles and healthy families is an important component of a strong community and a foundation of our tourism experience,” said Mayor Nancy Wilhelm-Morden. “The RMOW promotion on BC Family Day helps move towards those aims by making the exceptional recreational facilities at Lost Lake, Whistler Olympic Plaza and Meadow Park Sports Centre even more affordable and accessible to everyone.”
The RMOW’s half-priced rates complement the variety of other promotions that various organizations and companies in Whistler are offering for the first-ever Family Day. Among the promotions is the opportunity for BC Residents to ski at Whistler Blackcomb for 50 per cent off regular ticket prices. A list of other offers, as well as events taking place during the long week, is available at http://www.whistler.com/BC-family-day/.
