RBC GranFondo rolls into Whistler on September 8

The 2012 RBC GranFondo Whistler will bring 7,000 cyclists on an epic journey from downtown Vancouver, along the Sea to Sky highway and through Squamish to finish in Whistler on Blackcomb Way. The route features breathtaking views of Howe Sound and challenging climbs through the Coast Mountain Range.

Join Mayor Nancy Wilhelm-Morden on Saturday, September 8 as she welcomes bikers to the Village and stick around as the community celebrates the last Whistler Presents concert of the summer with the participants of the RBC GranFondo Whistler.

Check out the fresh sound of The Paperboys, who will start the show at 6 p.m. The band was founded by Mexican born, Tom Landa in the mid-nineties in Vancouver and provides a unique sound that fuses folk, Celtic and bluegrass music with pop and rock.

Vancouver band She Stole My Beer will follow at 7:15 p.m. This local favourite was inspired by the classic music of the 70s and is known for playing original songs as well as a huge repertoire of covers.
