This section provides information regarding permits and licenses issued by the Resort Municipality of Whistler:

 

Sign Permits

Businesses operating in Whistler are required to have a valid sign permit that complies with the Consolidated Sign Bylaw No. 558, 1987, as well as any comprehensive sign plans for specific buildings. Contact us if you have any questions about your building’s sign plan.

To obtain a sign permit, please download the Sign Permit Application form and return it, completed to Municipal Hall. The information requested in this application is necessary to fully evaluate your request for signs. Completion of this form does not guarantee approval.

You will be required to submit, with your completed application:

  • 2 sets of complete and detailed drawings, to scale
  • Written approval for proposed signage from Strata or Tennant Coordinator

  • Each Sign Involving Structural Design(freestanding, fascia, or awning)
  • Each Front Lit or Rear Lit Sign
  • Each Sign Encroaching Over a Street
  • Each Sign Erected Without a Permit
