Parking Locations & Rates

The Resort Municipality of Whistler (RMOW) is moving towards user pay parking as an equitable and efficient way of covering parking costs by drivers rather than taxpayers.  In addition to over 1,200 privately-run parking spaces in Whistler Village and 2,800 spaces run by Whistler Blackcomb, the RMOW also offers several parking options that serve a range of needs for both residents and visitors.

Some spaces are priced for convenience when making quick trips to the Village.  Others offer hourly rates, full day rates, overnight rates, discounted monthly passes and underground, heated parking convenience.  For commuters who car pool with a minimum three people, the municipality also offers ride-share parking permits with designated parking spaces.

Day Lot Parking Passes

At the December 20, 2011 Council Meeting, the following changes to the Day Lot Parking Program were approved:

Rates:

  • Day Lots 4 and 5 will be free of charge starting December 21, 2011
  • Day Lots 1, 2, and 3 remain at $2 per hour or $8 per day
  • Parking in all Day Lots will be free of charge starting at 5 p.m. to 3:00 a.m.

Passes:

  • Monthly, three-month and six-month Day Lot passes will be valid in all Day Lots (1, 2 and 3) Day Lot passes are available for parking in Day Lots 1, 2 and 3 payable at Municipal Hall and at the machines in the lots
  • The municipality will also continue to sell pass products for the Whistler Conference Centre underground and library underground.

Day Lot Parking Pass Terms & Conditions:

  • Day Lot Parking Passes are issued per vehicle and are based on the license plate number. Passes may be transferred once if a pass holder buys a new vehicle.
  • Day Lot Parking Passes do not guarantee a space.

Typically, there are five to seven days per year where the Day Lots are at capacity. During a few peak hours on these days, it may be difficult to find a space. Lot attendants will work with pass holders to find alternative parking (as available) at no cost to pass holders. Parking Lots 6-8 can be accessed via Glacier Lane. Drivers who are looking for 24/365 parking access may wish to purchase a dedicated underground space from the RMOW or a private operator.

  • Day Lot Parking Passes issued after December 21, 2011 are non-refundable
  • Day Lot Parking Pass renewal is at the discretion of the pass holder.

As no personal information is collected for Pass transactions, neither the RMOW nor Whistler Blackcomb will contact pass holders when passes expire.  Passes may be renewed at any time at Day Lot pay machines or at Municipal Hall during regular office hours.

Gold Parking Permit:

Introduced in November 2011, the Gold Parking Permit is a joint venture between the RMOW and the Day Lot Operation. A maximum of 20 Gold Permits will be available. Gold Permit holders have the option to park in any Day Lot (subject to availability), in the Conference Centre underground, in the Conference Centre surface lot and on Main Street at any time when those lots are open.

Parking Pass Purchase:

There are two ways to purchase municipal Parking Passes:

  1. In Day Lots 1,2 and 3 at the pay machines using a credit card for payment. Note: the pass will be active from the time of purchase.
  2. At Municipal Hall, 4325 Blackcomb Way during regular business hours: 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Monday to Friday.
  • Monthly Parking Passes for the Conference Centre or Library can only be purchased at Municipal Hall.
  • Day Lot 10x Parking Passes can only be purchased at Municipal Hall.
