Whistler residents volunteer for several reasons. Whether it is to give back to the community, help others in need, discover potential new career paths or make new friends, Whistler residents are passionate about volunteering.

Volunteers are people from all walks of life, all ages, all abilities and all stages. What they have in common is the desire to make a difference in their community – and in their own life – by giving of their time and expertise.
The Resort Municipality of Whistler (RMOW) encourages volunteer opportunities within the community and supports local community groups, organizations, special events and charities.
Volunteer opportunities can vary in length and role depending on the volunteer’s preferences and needs of the organization.

One way to volunteer in Whistler is through the Village Host Volunteer Program, which is overseen by the RMOW. Village Hosts assist visitors by: providing maps of the village, providing general Whistler information and the community’s history; promoting community events and performances; demonstrating community pride and enthusiasm; and, sharing the spirit of the Whistler community with visitors.
