The scope of work includes relining of corroded concrete manholes and mains and removal and replacement of structurally compromised manholes including the necessary temporary bypasses to complete the works.
Project overview
The Sewer Manhole and Main Upgrades project was identified as a priority due to the corrosion of the existing sewer and manhole infrastructure. The main relining will mitigate further corrosion and prevent ground water infiltration entering the sanitary system. The project site is located on the Kirkpatrick Way trail between Nancy Green Drive and Spruce Grove Way. Throughout the project, a trail detour will be in place for the safety of the public.
Schedule
Construction is expected to commence in spring/summer 2021 with completion in fall 2021. Site preparations to begin in early 2021. A Request for Quotation will be issued to pre-qualified vendors in early 2021
Next steps
Mid-February crews will be undertaking site preparations, including limited tree removal, to facilitate the construction works. The work will take place adjacent to Kirkpatrick Way and the valley trail, between Nancy Green Drive and Spruce Grove Way.
