Whistler water is safe and consistently meets provincial quality standards. The RMOW maintains this quality through a variety of new project initiatives.
There are a range of projects currently underway. In fall 2018, many of these are scheduled for completion. Specific project estimated completion dates are listed below.

When a well is no longer in use and is not being properly maintained, the risk of contamination from the surface increases.
The project involves decommissioning multiple water wells in Whistler that are no longer used or maintained.

The existing Rainbow Park well is a critical high-volume supply source, with very good water quality, and an underlying large-capacity aquifer.
The project includes:
- adding a second well to provide emergency supply in the event of a major water shortage should the 21-Mile Creek surface intake go offline.
- upgrading electrical equipment in accordance with WorkSafe BC directives.
