The Whistler Housing Authority (WHA) and BC Housing Management Commission (BC Housing) are inviting
proposals for the Design Build Services for a new resident restricted 20 unit Rental Apartment Building designated
for seniors located at 8350 Bear Paw Trail based on a Stipulated Fixed Price.
Access to construction financing may be provided by BC Housing Management Commission with a projected
interest rate of 1-1.5% during the time of this construction. In addition, a $2 Million grant is available to the
Whistler Housing Authority for this project from BC Housing, secured by a forgivable mortgage.
The new building will target mature tenants and be approximately 18,000 square feet, comprising a mix of compact
studio, one bedroom and two bedroom units (approx. 550 – 900 sq.ft) with an elevator, parkade and storage. The
building will be constructed in accordance with the current zoning. Affordability and energy efficiency will be
primary objectives for the development of this project. No specific seniors assisted care is anticipated for this
