The land that is the subject of the Permit is legally described as: PID: 025 424 653 PLAN LMS4695 STRATA LOT 10 DISTRICT LOT 7798 NEW WESTMINSTER DISTRICT GROUP 1, TOGETHER WITH AN INTEREST IN THE COMMON PROPERTY IN PROPORTION TO THE UNIT ENTITLEMENT OF THE STRATA LOT AS SHOWN ON FORM 1 OR V, AS APPROPRIATE., as shown on the sketch / map attached to this notice (the “Lands”).
The purpose of the Permit is vary Whistler’s Zoning and Parking Bylaw 303, 2015 to allow the construction of retaining walls and a landscape planter in setback areas on the Lands as follows: one retaining wall within 0 metres of the front parcel line, one landscape planter within 1.04 metres of the front parcel line, one retaining wall in the front and side (west) setback at 1.88 metres in height, one retaining wall in the side (west) setback at 2.94 metres in height and one retaining wall in the front setback at 4.12 metres in height.
Without the proposed variance, retaining walls and landscape planters are not permitted to be sited within 2 metres of a parcel line that abuts a highway (front parcel line in this case) and retaining walls are not permitted to be greater than 1.22 metres in height in setback areas.
Copies of the Development Variance Permit, along with the permit application and supporting documentation, may be viewed electronically on the Resort Municipality of Whistler’s website at the following link: www.whistler.ca/DVP01188. Alternatively, copies of the Development Variance Permit, permit application and supporting documentation may also be inspected at the reception desk of the Municipal Hall at 4325 Blackcomb Way, Whistler, B.C., during regular office hours (Monday to Friday, 8:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., excluding statutory holidays) from September 3, 2021 until October 5, 2021.
