The Subaru IRONMAN Canada course will consist of a 2.4-mile swim, a 112-mile bicycle ride and a full marathon. The race will start with a two-loop swim in Alta Lake followed by a one-loop bike course via the Sea-to-Sky Highway to the Callaghan Valley and Pemberton. The two-loop run course then will take place on the Valley Trail in Whistler, winding past Lost Lake and Green Lake, and the race will end at the finish line adjacent to Whistler Olympic Plaza in Whistler Village.
The Subaru IRONMAN Canada requires volunteers for a variety of positions. If you are interested or you have a community group that would like to get involved please apply online.
Volunteers will be provided with a IRONMAN volunteer t-shirt, a meal, a great view of the race action plus a post-event volunteer celebration. Financial grants available to eligible community groups.

PLAN AHEAD, leave your car at home, bike or walk on the Valley Trail and be part of celebrating Subaru IRONMAN Canada.
The entire Valley Trail will be open! The public is encouraged to use the Valley Trail as their main travel route throughout event day.
Please note: Several portions of the Valley Trail on the east side of Highway 99 will be used for the run portion of Subaru IRONMAN® Canada. Pedestrians and cyclists are asked to use extreme caution when accessing these areas and to respect the competitors.

Please note: Emerald Estates, Rainbow and Alpine Meadows will be significantly impacted throughout the day.
Riding Whistler Transit on July 30.
- Day Lot 4 will be closed Thursday, July 27 through Monday, July 31.
- Parking at Rainbow Park will be closed Saturday, July 28 and Sunday, July 30.
- Day Lot 5 is expected to be at capacity Thursday, July 27 through Monday, July 31.
- Day Lot 3 will have limited commercial bus and RV parking. Limited overflow parking will be available at the Spruce Grove Field House parking lot.
- Day Lots 6, 7 and 8 will be open. (15 minute downhill walk to the Village)
- Creekside Day Lots and the Spruce Grove Field House parking lot will remain open.
- Hotels and other private parking lots throughout Whistler will remain open.
Stock up in advance on any items you will want on Sunday, July 30 so you can enjoy a great day. Whistler businesses will be open throughout the day and many will be featuring their merchandise in the Village Stroll Business Showcase. Plan to do errands, shopping and fuel up in the days before and after the event.
All medical emergencies will have priority over the event. In case of an emergency, dial 9-1-1.

Alternatively you can grab a beverage and watch the action on the big screen at Whistler Olympic Plaza throughout the day. The finish line at Whistler Olympic Plaza will also be an exciting place to see the athletes as they complete the race with the final finisher crossing the line at midnight.
The race will also be broadcast live via the Subaru IRONMAN Canada website.
Best Place to Watch...
Walk or ride a bike on the Valley Trail to Rainbow Park.
Note: NO SPECTATORS will be allowed on the event buses going to Rainbow Park. There is NO vehicle access to Rainbow Park on July 29 or July 30.
WHISTLER: The bike course passes through Whistler three times. There is a spectator viewing area on the east side on Highway 99 in front of the Aava Hotel.
The two-loop, 26.2 mile (42-km) run course follows the meandering Valley Trail past Lost Lake and Green Lake, allowing spectators to reinvigorate athletes with a return through Whistler Village at the halfway point of the run. Athletes repeat the same loop a second time before finishing adjacent to Whistler Olympic Plaza.
The finish line will be an exciting and inspiring place to be during the Subaru IRONMAN® Canada competition. The run is the final leg of the triathlon competition. Spectators are encouraged to come out and support the athletes and take part in the celebration.
The finish line is located at Blackcomb Way near Whistler Olympic Plaza and the majority of finishers will cross the finish line in between 5 p.m. and 10 p.m. The final finishers will cross the finish line at midnight so expect Whistler Olympic Plaza to be alive with excitement as the final competitors complete this epic triathlon course. There will also be lots of event activity in Day Lot 4, along Blackcomb Way and at Whistler Olympic Plaza until midnight.
