The Resort Municipality of Whistler is humbled and honoured to be invited by the Four Host Nations to advance an Indigenous-led 2030 Games bid. Together, Lil’Wat Nation, Squamish Nation, Musqueam Nation, and Tsleil-Waututh Nation are leading the exploration of a 2030 Olympic and Paralympic Winter Games in Vancouver, Whistler and Sun Peaks.
The Resort Municipality of Whistler has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) to explore the possibility of hosting the Games once again. Final decisions have not been made as we are moving forward with community engagement to refine the 2030 Games concept. All partners want to hear from you.
We believe an Indigenous-led Games, provides a unique opportunity to advance our shared commitment to reconciliation, amplifying the strong and powerful voices of Indigenous communities, leaders and youth to engage with Canadians and re-imagine what a Winter Games can be, and how they can help build a better and stronger Canada.
