The Spring 2017 project is now underway. A $200,000 project to relocate and redesign the jump park, bike skills park, and pump track, in coordination with the Cultural Connector Project, and Valley Trail re-alignment. The work will improve the Fitzsimmons Bike Park, viewing and social gathering opportunities at the park and safety on the Valley Trail.
Scope of the work:
- Widening and realigning the Valley Trail to improve safety
- Expanding the Bike Jump Park to include the Bike Skills Park
- Improving the layout and flow of the Bike Skills Park
- Installing underground utilities for future services
Fitzsimmons Bike Park
Located near Fitzsimmons Creek, the Whistler Village Bike Park provides locals and guests an opportunity to improve skills and gain confidence.
The park consists of four zones:
- Jump track
- Pump track
- Beginner skills area
- Intermediate skills area
The Whistler Off-Road Cycling Association (WORCA) uses the area for youth programs and clinics, teaching safety, etiquette and technique.
