The Resort Municipality of Whistler (RMOW) is in the final stages of a renovation project at Municipal Hall, located at 4325 Blackcomb Way. The project began in the summer and was undertaken to provide improvements to customer service areas, customer and employee accessibility, and workspace environment.
Three updated areas are now open to the public. The main reception area at the main entrance to Municipal Hall has been converted to an open-concept customer service counter providing reception and financial services. The layout is designed to achieve synergies in service delivery and workflow, a more efficient use of space and a more modern, welcoming entry area.
The Building Department has a new location on the lower floor of Municipal Hall, which locates the RMOW services associated with building, development and zoning in the same area for better customer access. The upper and lower floor entrance doors are open to the public during regular operating hours: Monday to Friday from 8 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.
The renovation project continues with work to complete the main reception area and nearby offices. Work is also still in progress to improve the accessibility ramp into the building. All work is being done within the existing building structure.
The RMOW would like to thank all residents and visitors for their patience and flexibility while visiting Municipal Hall during the transition.
The Municipal Hall building was formerly a Keg restaurant and was converted and relocated to its current location in 1978. Since then minor renovations have been done over time.
