The Vancouver Symphony Orchestra performances on June 30 and July 1 to start at earlier time of 7 p.m.
June 29, 2018: Whistler, B.C. – The Vancouver Symphony Orchestra performances on Saturday, June 30 and Sunday, July 1 have an amended start time of 7 p.m. The Vancouver Symphony Orchestra will perform at Whistler Olympic Plaza as part of the stellar line up of celebrations in Whistler over the Canada Day long weekend.
The Vancouver Symphony Orchestra concerts were originally scheduled for 8:30 p.m. The earlier start is in response to the forecast of cool, wet weather for the next two days. Whistler residents and visitors coming to the Olympic Plaza to enjoy these special Canada Day weekend performances are reminded to prepare for possible rain and cool conditions, as it is an outdoor venue. A covered area is available in the Wine & Beer Garden which is open from 6 p.m. to 10 p.m., with limited spaces.
The Resort Municipality of Whistler (RMOW) released the full schedule of long weekend celebrations, funded by the Province of British Columbia’s Resort Municipality. All other activities will continue as planned.
- Saturday, June 30: The Vancouver Symphony Orchestra performs at 7 p.m. at Whistler Olympic Plaza. The Wine & Beer Garden opens on site from 6 to 10 p.m.
- Canada Day: Sunday, July 1: Cheer on the Canada Day Parade, as almost 50 floats wind their way through Whistler Village. The parade begins at noon at Whistler Olympic Plaza and continues along the Village Stroll to Mountain Square. The Whistler Farmers Market takes place in the Upper Village from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. The Vancouver Symphony Orchestra performs at 7 p.m. at Whistler Olympic Plaza, with the Wine & Beer Garden open from 6 to 10 p.m.
- Monday, July 2: The Vancouver Symphony Orchestra Institute of Whistler performs at Whistler Olympic Plaza at 2 p.m.
