Regular Meeting of Council will take place at 5:30 p.m. at Maury Young Arts Centre

Resort Municipality of Whistler (RMOW) Council will return to in-person meetings at the Maury Young Arts Centre (MYAC) beginning Tuesday, September 7 at 5:30 p.m.

The in-person Council meetings will be in compliance with the current public health orders and Step 3 of the province’s Restart Plan.

To ensure the safety of the public, staff and Council, mask wearing requirements, capacity limits, and separate entrance/exits will be in effect. A maximum of 125 individuals will be permitted in the theatre area at MYAC and 26 in the gallery space, where the meeting will be broadcast on televisions.

The public will also be able to watch a live stream of Council meetings by visiting whistler.ca/CouncilMeetings, navigating to the meeting schedule and clicking the “view live stream” link on that page. Meetings will not be broadcast via Zoom.

While British Columbia and the Vancouver Coastal Health Authority region remain in Step 3, upcoming Committee of the Whole Meetings will take place at 2 p.m. at Maury Young Arts Centre instead of Municipal Hall. This includes the Committee of the Whole scheduled for September 7.

As per the public health order, starting September 13, proof of vaccination will be required to access some events, services and businesses. This is under careful review to understand the implications on public meetings and to ensure the public has fair access to information and municipal decision-making. More information will be shared as it becomes available.
