October 20, 2018: The preliminary election results for the Resort Municipality of Whistler (RMOW) 2018 Local Government General Election have been released.
A total of 2955 Whistler voters cast their ballots to elect six councillors out of a total of 20 candidates for a four-year term. The positions of mayor and two school trustee seats were previously acclaimed on September 24, 2018.
Based on the preliminary election results, the following candidates have been elected for the four-year 2018–2022 council term:

Official election results will be declared by Chief Election Officer Brooke Browning on October 24 at 2 p.m. The new council will be sworn in at the Inaugural Council Meeting on November 6 at 5:30 p.m. at Maury Young Arts Centre.

Voter turnout
A total of 2955 voters cast ballots at the 2018 Local Government General Election; representing 32.46% of eligible voters. There were 319 ballots cast at the October 10 advance poll, and 380 ballots at the October 13 advance poll.
In addition to the voting days, 123 mail ballots were received before the close of voting.
Previous voter turnouts rates were 1434 in the 2017 by-election, 2303 in the 2014 election, and 3952 in the 2011 election.
