At around 11:15 p.m. on Saturday, April 15, Whistler Fire Rescue Service responded to a fire at 4355 Northlands Boulevard. RCMP and Emergency Social Services also responded. Everyone was evacuated from the building and offered emergency housing and victim services. No injuries have been reported. Twenty units were affected by the fire. The cause is under investigation.

A Community Recovery Meeting for residents displaced by the Northlands Fire took place on Monday, April 17, 2017, and the Community Recovery Committee, which includes Whistler Community Services society, Canadian Red Cross Society, the Resort Municipality of Whistler, and Community Foundation of Whistler, will continue to offer support to those who need it.
The Community Foundation of Whistler is accepting monetary donations for Whistler residents displaced by the Northlands Fire. Only monetary donations will be accepted. The Community Foundation of Whistler distributes money from the Emergency Fund through Whistler Community Services Society. The fund helps those who have exhausted all other resources. Any funds not required by those affected by the Northlands Fire will be placed into the Emergency Fund to benefit those impacted in future emergencies.
