Seeking two community members to serve on committee
The Resort Municipality of Whistler (RMOW) is inviting applications for two representatives from the community to serve in a voluntary capacity on the new Mayor’s Task Force on Resident Housing. Council resolved to form the task force at their October 4 meeting, and terms of reference for the task force were endorsed on October 18.
The Task Force will explore and promote initiatives to support Whistler’s resident housing needs. It will also act as an advisory body to the RMOW for its initiatives related to resident housing.
The 16-member Task Force will include both commercial and community organizations and the community, along with representatives from the Resort Municipality of Whistler. Membership will include Whistler Housing Authority staff (1), Whistler Housing Authority Board member (1), Resort Municipality of Whistler staff (2), Resort Municipality of Whistler Council (2), Whistler Blackcomb (1), Tourism Whistler (1), Whistler Chamber of Commerce (1), Whistler Community Services Society (1), Hotel Association of Whistler (1), Restaurant Association of Whistler (1), Real Estate Association of Whistler (1), Whistler Association of Retailers and Merchants (1) as well as the community members appointed by Council (2).

Community members, who are interested in serving on the task force, are encouraged to apply by submitting a resume and brief statement reflecting their interest in participating on the task force to Toni Metcalf, economic development officer, by email (firstname.lastname@example.org) or fax (604-935-8109) by October 26.
