Get fed and refreshed while previewing the food trucks coming this summer
To kick off the food truck summer season, the Resort Municipality of Whistler (RMOW) is hosting a block party on Friday, June 28 in the Upper Village.
From noon to 5 p.m., residents and visitors can preview the approved food trucks coming to Whistler parks this summer and celebrate food and beverage with local businesses. Admission is free. Vendors will have their regular menus for purchase.
Confirmed vendors for the block party will be Mountain Squeeze, Turmeric Trailer, Folie Crepes, Cravings Kettle Corn, Juice Nation and Lucia Gelato.
Two other vendors will also be participating in the summer program: Carte Diem – Seize the Souvlaki and Teriyaki Boys.
Food trucks program starts June 29
From June 29 to September 2, 2019, food trucks will be scheduled every day at Whistler parks.
The two main parks are Lost Lake Park and Rainbow Park. When these parks are closed to the public due to annual events – including Subaru IRONMAN Whistler at Rainbow Park and the toad migration at Lost Lake Park – Lakeside Park will be used as an alternate location.
The trucks will serve a mix of street food and beverages typically from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. Visitors and residents can choose from souvlaki, fresh juices, popcorn, smoothies, crepes and more.
Please check the food truck schedule online for the latest scheduling information.
This year marks the fourth year of the program. The initial food truck pilot project was launched in mid-summer 2016, and subsequent years have expanded on the concept.
The food truck program is a great opportunity for visitors and residents to enjoy food in a fun, outdoor setting at the parks. It also allows existing restaurants or food service operators, predominantly from the Sea to Sky Corridor, to grow or add value to their businesses.
