Community members invited to provide feedback
Chief Administrative Officer Mike Furey presented the Resort Municipality of Whistler’s (RMOW) 2019 Corporate Plan, including the 2018 Annual Report, at the regular council meeting on June 11.
“The Corporate Plan lays out the work of the municipality and how we will spend your tax dollars,” said Furey, “This is an accountability tool for keeping us on track for the current year and prioritizing our work and focus to align with Council and community priorities. I strongly encourage everyone who is interested in how decisions are made in Whistler to review this document.”
The Corporate Plan is the RMOW’s key strategic planning document, which articulates annual community priorities, corporate goals, corporate strategies, key deliverables and employee objectives—all of which are aligned with Whistler’s vision and Official Community Plan (OCP), and the organization’s budget (or Five-Year Financial Plan). It is developed to reflect Council’s priorities, as well as the ongoing engagement between RMOW and the community throughout the year.
Council will formally consider the Corporate Plan at the regular meeting of council at 5:30 p.m. on June 25 at the Maury Young Arts Centre. A copy of the annual report is available online at www.whistler.ca and in person at the front counter of Municipal Hall between 8 a.m. and 4:30 p.m. Monday to Friday at 4325 Blackcomb Way.
