Whistler's Community Cultural Plan Open House scheduled for June 25
In February 2012, Whistler Council approved the development of Whistler's Community Cultural Plan.
The development process was assigned to the Whistler Arts Council and directed by a community-based Steering Committee. In September 2012 the consulting firm of PERC (Professional Environmental and Recreation Consulting Ltd.) was engaged to undertake community consultations, research and analysis, and to help prepare a community-based plan that would serve as a blueprint for Whistler's cultural development over the next decade.
Over the past eight months almost 400 community members provided input into the process and a draft version of Whistler's Community Cultural Plan is now available for review and further input from the community before a final draft is presented to Council for their consideration.
The Open House takes place at Millennium Place from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. on Tuesday, June 25. The event will include a presentation by PERC, followed by discussion and an opportunity to complete a survey asking for your feedback. We want to know whether the draft plan paints a picture of the future that you're happy with, whether we've missed anything, and what you think Whistler's priorities should be as we move forward.
Community feedback will be received both at the Open House, and electronically for two weeks following the Open House, prior to the Final Draft Plan being presented to Council.
