The Resort Municipality of Whistler (RMOW) will begin a phone survey of Whistler residents and second homeowners beginning January 19 focusing on municipal operations and services, and general aspects of community life. The random phone survey will take place until 500 interviews of 300 full-time residents and 200 part-time residents are completed.
A web version of the survey will also be available for residents later. The online survey is an opportunity for participants to provide more in-depth open ended information.
The survey results are important for tracking the performance for the RMOW’s Corporate Plan and measuring performance towards the priorities identified in Whistler2020 Community Comprehensive Sustainability Plan. Survey results help Council and staff understand community priorities, trends and concerns, as well as feedback and insights regarding municipal plans and services.
The survey is being conducted by Forum Research Inc., the market research group that conducted the 2015 Community Life Survey. This is the eleventh Community Life Survey being conducted by the RMOW, and the sixth year that the survey will also be available online. The RMOW is committed to evidence-based, transparent governance, and the Community Life Survey is a key contribution to the 2019 corporate planning process.
Survey results will be presented to Whistler Council in the spring.
