Trust in Decision-Making
Trust in decision-making is stable for permanent residents and second homeowners year over year. Whistler does not have a formalized target for this indicator, however current results for the community are about average.
Why Monitor This
Community trust in local decision-makers’ intentions provides a snapshot of public support for decisions. Public support is often influenced by the engagement opportunities, communications transparency, as well as community understanding of issues and trade-offs related to decisions.
What This Measures
This indicator measures community members’ level of trust that local decision-makers have the best interests of the community in mind when making decisions. The data is collected annually in the Community Life Survey.
