August 16, 2022 – Bears Entering Properties Throughout Whistler

The Conservation Officer Service (COS) has received multiple reports of bears entering properties throughout Whistler.

Although the temperature is hot right now, residents and visitors of Whistler are reminded to close doors and windows when unattended and ensure they are locked. The same applies to vehicles.

Bears can be enticed to homes by smells of cooking, sweet smelling air fresheners and even toiletries used to shower, amongst other attractants.

Report sightings of bears around properties to the Conservation Officer Service at: 1-877-952-7277.
