The Mountain Square Sewer Upgrades is a capital project to ensure areas in Whistler Village continue to receive effective sewer service.
The project will see Carlton Lodge's internal wastewater plumbing upgraded to a larger size pipe. The sewer line that runs from the first floor of the Carlton Lodge through the underground parking will be upsized to increase the system's capacity and prevent future backups.
The need to undertake this work was identified during an extensive assessment of the Resort Municipality of Whistler's sanitary sewer network.
Project status: Completed
The project was completed as of December 4, 2018 by RMOW contractor Brian Aryhurst Contracting.
Businesses and residents located in the Carleton Lodge will experience construction noise and some minor re-direction of pedestrian traffic. Vehicle entrance from Mountain Lane to additional parking and delivery points will be limited to one way alternating traffic. It may not be possible for large vehicles to go through this entrance. This interruption is expecetd to last for two days and dates will be posted when available. A limited number of parking stall users in Lot D (lower level) will be asked to relocate their vehicles within the parkade. Additional information will be posted in the parkade.
