The RMOW maintains the wastewater collection system and the Wastewater Treatment Plant through a variety of new project initiatives.
|Sewer Odour and Corrosion Control Program||One year pilot project beginning June 2018|
Odour is often caused by peak day sewage flows, causing gasses to be expelled from manholes and other avenues to the sewers. Dosing and storage stations at two strategic locations in Whistler have been installed. One in Emerald and one in Alpine. The project seeks to:
- Provide safer working conditions for workers required to access sanitary manholes and wet-wells.
- Mitigate sanitary odour issues experienced at a number of node points along the RMOW’s sanitary sewer system.
- Mitigate concrete corrosion that has been identified along the RMOW’s trunk main and extends the functional life of this important piece of infrastructure.
Contract awarded to: BioMaxx Wastewater Solutions Inc.
