The RMOW is moving toward a user-pay system, which has been discussed extensively as part of the community’s long-term transportation, Green House Gas reduction and air quality plans dating back many years. The objectives of moving to a user-pay system are also to reduce the burden on property tax, improve the visitor experience and generate revenue for transit.
The Transportation Advisory Group (TAG), a committee of council that includes members from Tourism Whistler, Whistler Blackcomb, the Chamber of Commerce, Ministry of Highways and at large community members, as well as members of the business community, had input into the development of the plan that was approved by council. The RMOW is committed to finding solutions which work for Whistler, and to monitor and adjust the policy as needed.
DAY LOTS 1 to 5
On June 28, 2010, user pay parking will begin in Day Lots 1, 2, and 3 on Blackcomb Way. Parking in Day Lots 4 and 5 will remain free of charge.
In 2009, Day Lots 1 to 4 were paved, and upgrades to lighting, ramps,
stairs, and storm water management were completed. The
upgrades improve parking accessibility and the arrival experience of guests.

Other Parking Options

A significant number of them are underground, offering hourly, daily
and monthly rates. Some
free-of-charge parking is also available including two-hour customer
parking at Market Place.
Park Smart with Smart Park
Whistler residents can receive greater discounts through the
purchase of in-car Smart Park meters, which charge $1 for the first hour, $1 for the second hour and $2 for the
third hour at all locations except the bus loop and in front of the
North Shore Credit Union Building. If you return to your car before the
allotted time is up, the Smart Park meter will credit your Smart Card,
