PARKS AND TRAILS

Short temporary closures to the Valley Trail through Rainbow Park are anticipated and will be communicated in advance. Thank you for your cooperation.

Yard waste bins
Installed at both Function Junction and Nesters Waste Depots. While your “messy” garden or lawn may be calling to you as the weather warms, please consider delaying your outdoor clean-up until at least late spring. This layer protects overwintering wildlife and can help insulate young plants from early spring frosts.

  • Bottles & Cans: this stream is intended for refundable items only.
  • Compost: this stream is for food scraps, compostable take-out containers, as well as we are currently trialing accepting dog waste in RMOW supplied dog ASTM 6400 compostable dog waste bags.
  • Coffee Cups: all takeout coffee cups and lids can go in these waste streams through Whistler Village.
  • Garbage: anything not accepted in the other streams, including diapers and dog waste in non-compostable bags.
  • Household waste: Parks and Village waste streams are not to be used for disposing of household waste. Fines of up to $2000 can be incurred.
