Job market

As a result of a strong business sector, Whistler’s job market is diverse. The community’s resident work force has grown steadily with high numbers in tourism-related service sectors, including food and beverage, accomodation, recreation and entertainment, retail trade, business services, real estate and transportation.

This past winter, the resort workforce represented 12,200 full-time equivalent (FTE) employees. More than 10,447 of those FTE positions were full-time employees, with 1,700 part-time employees making up the rest.

Every year, between 24% and 35% of Whistler’s total workforce arrives from out of town to work for the season or year.  Whistler’s seasonal employees come from around the world to live and play in our unique resort town.
