As a result of a strong business sector, Whistler's job market is diverse. The community's resident work force has grown steadily with high numbers in tourism-related service sectors, including food and beverage, accomodation, recreation and entertainment, retail trade, business services, real estate and transportation.
This past winter, the resort workforce represented 12,200 full-time equivalent (FTE) employees. More than 10,447 of those FTE positions were full-time employees, with 1,700 part-time employees making up the rest.
