Municipal Lands Strategy: guiding Whistler’s land decisions
The Municipal Lands Strategy is a long‑term planning tool that helps guide decisions about land owned by the Resort Municipality of Whistler (RMOW). It is used to support Council’s decisions on whether to keep, develop, acquire, or sell municipal land.
Land decisions shape Whistler’s future housing supply, economy and environment.
The strategy will support the delivery of new resident housing. It is part of our Housing Accelerator Fund Action Plan with the Canada Mortgage and Housing Corporation.
This strategy was reviewed and refined with input from partners including the Whistler Housing Authority and Whistler 2020 Development Corporation.
When an individual land parcel is considered for action, all applicable zoning, permitting, legal and approval processes will be followed.
