BC Wildfire Service has the Cougar Mountain fire held and it hasn’t grown over the weekend. The cool temperatures and high humidity are helping fight the wildfire.

BC Wildfire Service continues to respond to the wildfire on Cougar Mountain, near WedgeWoods.
Overnight, fire growth remained minimal. One helicopter is currently working the fire, with another expected to join operations later today. Ground crews are also working to access the area.
BC Wildfire Service reports no concerns at this time, with no threats to structures, business operations, or nearby trail users, including the Ancient Cedars trail.
The public can expect ongoing helicopter activity in the area over the next one to two days.

BC Wildfire Service is responding to a wildfire north of Whistler on the backside of Cougar Mountain. There is no immediate risk to the Resort Municipality of Whistler.
The fire is estimated to be 6.5 hectares in size and is located in steep, inaccessible terrain. It cannot be accessed by ground crews at this time.
BC Wildfire Service is responding with air support and winds in the area are currently light. Further updates, if required, will be posted at whistler.ca.
