Are you planning on getting married? You can obtain a marriage licence at Municipal Hall in Whistler.

Before coming in, please review the Province of B.C.’s information on Marriage for essential details relating to the application process.

You will need to complete the application (PDF), print it and bring it to Municipal Hall with government-issued primary identification for both parties. If the party 1 and party 2 are both present when purchasing the license, they only need to provide one piece of ID. However, if only one party to the marriage applies for the licence, they must provide two pieces of government-issued ID for both parties. (Photocopies of ID are acceptable for the party that is not present.)

Please note, the application process and preparation of the licence takes approximately 30 minutes. Applicants can apply for a marriage licence in the three months prior to their wedding date.

The cost of the licence is $100, payable in Canadian funds. Payment is due at the time of application and can be cash, AMEX, MasterCard, Visa or Interac. We also accest US funds at the exchange rate set weekly by our financial institution.
