Early years programs

Our programs support and encourage emotional, cognitive, social, and physical development through a variety of arts, crafts, songs, storytelling, games, fine and gross motor activities, and of course free play. As programs progress, children stay for longer periods of time and program leaders meet the children with activities that provide age appropriate challenges and plenty of opportunities for success. This fun environment with positive leader encouragement will keep children engaged and excited to attend.

Early Years Programs

Awesome Afternoons

Age: 3.5 to 5 years
Set 2: April 4 to June 13, 2023 (Tuesday)
Set 3: April 6 to June 15, 2023 (Thursday)
Time: 11:15 a.m. to 1:45 p.m.
Location: Myrtle Philip Community Centre

A fun-filled afternoon of free play, arts and crafts, songs, stories, active games and outdoor explorations will keep your child engaged and excited all afternoon long. This extension of early learning will foster growth, development and kindergarten readiness.

Creative Play

Age: 2.5 to 5 years

Creative Play is an introduction to a group setting for your toddler. Your child will love this active morning of arts, crafts, songs, games and play. Children who are not toilet trained may register, however parents will be called to change their child.

Pre-K Afternoon

Sticky Fingers and Creative Crafts

Age: 3.5 to 5 years

Let your preschooler enjoy cooking and creating in both the kitchen and the classroom. Through mixing, rolling, crafting and story telling, we will have fun while making new creations and something good to eat!

Woodland Wanderers

Age: 3.5 to 5 years

This play-based, outdoor preschool program will have your child connecting to the natural environment in a physically active way. With nature as the supporting teacher, children will become ecological stewards, learn their place in the world and find wonder within.

Parent and Tot Programs

Music & Movement Today

Age: 7 months to 5 years
Set 1: April 18 to June 13, 2023 (Tuesday)
Set 2: April 20 to June 15, 2023 (Thursday)

Music and Movement Today is a class for parents and their little ones! Perfect for children ages 7 months to 5 years old, this class is designed to promote physical, cognitive, and social development though fun and interactive activities. Each session will include musical instruments and movement games. Songs and dances will encourage children to express themselves and get creative. Cynthia Higgins has a Master’s Degree in Early Childhood Education and will guide parents and their children through a variety of activities that will foster a love of music and movement, and help to develop important skills such as coordination, balance and rhythm. This class is a great opportunity for parents to bond with their children, and for little ones to make new friends.
