The repairs are completed and the hot tub at Meadow Park Sports Centre is now open.
Meadow Park Sports Centre leisure pool closure
The leisure pool at Meadow Park Sports Centre is closed from Friday, July 31 due to a heat exchanger part failure. Heat exchangers play an essential role in heating the pool, increasing pool energy efficiency and cost savings. We expect to receive and install the replacement parts before we reopen from our annual maintenance shutdown on Monday, September 28. We apologize for the inconvenience, and understand this may be frustrating for our swimmers. Please check back for updates as we complete this important work.
Recreation Programs: Whistler resident status confirmation
As of June 22, 2026, all unverified accounts have been automatically changed from resident to non-resident in our recreation software system.
If your residency has not yet been verified:
- Non-resident rates apply to applicable programs.
- You do not have access to resident early registration. Fall resident registration begins on Saturday, August 8, 2026 at 11 a.m.
There is no urgency to verify residency unless you plan to register for programs. However, if you register for Flex Reg or Registered fitness classes before verification is complete, non-resident rates will apply.
If you are planning to register for programs (e.g., swim lessons) on August 8, we recommend verifying your residency in advance to avoid delays, additional fees, or missing out on registration. Read more.
Meadow Park Sports Centre annual maintenance closure information
This summer, Meadow Park Sports Centre will close to undergo important annual upgrades. We close the pool area and Meadow Park Sports Centre facility each year for regular maintenance to keep it clean, safe, working properly and making sure it lasts for years to come.
- The pool area closes Monday, August 17 and is scheduled to reopen Monday, September 28.
- The entire facility closes Saturday, August 29 and is scheduled to reopen Tuesday, September 8.
Maintenance during this time includes pool wall and window restoration, painting pool basins, mechanical equipment maintenance, refinishing changeroom floors, deep cleaning gym and studio spaces, repairing sauna walls and tiles, and performing general upkeep.
Pools will be refilled, heated, and rebalanced ready for your return.
Thank you again for your patience as we work to keep our facility in top shape to ensure an enjoyable experience for all our guests. Visit our activity schedules for the best times to play once we reopen.
Passholder information:
- All valid passes during the full facility closure will be extended for the full closure duration (10 days), plus an additional 2 bonus days, for 12 days.
- Passholders who only use the pool can contact Meadow Park Sports Centre guest services at recreation@whistler.ca or 604 935-PLAY (7529) for options.

Meadow Park Sports Centre statutory holiday hours have shifted to 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. We’ve taken this measure to responsibly manage costs for our taxpayers and maintain services for everyone. We apologize as we understand this may be an inconvenience and appreciate you making this adjustment to the new schedule.

- Access to pool area which includes a lift into the lap pool and an aquatic wheelchair to access the beach-entry leisure pool

- We provide free access to support attendants who assist persons with disabilities. We define support as assistance of a physical, psychological, emotional, intellectual, or sensory nature to ensure that a patron with a disability is able to participate.

- Please note that pets are not permitted in our facility as per the BC Health Act, but service dogs with a vest and supporting documents are permitted. Service dogs are permitted on the pool deck but not allowed in the water. (This accommodation does not include emotional support animals.)
