Whistler.ca home page following redesign

You may have noticed our municipal website, whistler.ca, has a new look and feel. Our refreshed site is more accessible, responsive, and user-friendly than ever.

Whistler.ca is the RMOW’s virtual Municipal Hall, serving our community 24/7, 365 days a year.

The public’s feedback informed how we improved the user experience. Through interviews with the community, Council and RMOW staff, we identified barriers to accessibility that were hampering users’ ability to find the information they needed. We heard loud and clear that the overall experience was poor, search functionality was weak, content wasn’t clear, and navigating the site wasn’t intuitive.

Through surveys and user interviews, we gained valuable feedback that defined our mission:

  • Improve the user experience by shifting focus onto user needs.
  • Remove visual and information clutter.
  • Provide quick access to the most accessed pages, including recreation, transit and parking information.
  • Build a seamless transition from whistler.ca to our business portal to make paying taxes and paying for permits easier.
  • Embed accessibility and inclusion into the site to meet people’s diverse access and use needs.
  • Build connection between the public, Council and the decisions they make by prioritizing contact details and Council meeting information and events within the navigation.
  • Anticipate our digital services will change over time based on how the community’s needs evolve, so we will need to continue to research and improve to serve you.

At the bottom of each page on the site, you’ll find a link to “Report an issue with this page.” Please don’t hesitate to report any issues you may encounter so that we can continuously improve your whistler.ca experience. And happy surfing!
