EVENTS 

Santa Parade 

The Whistler Emergency Services Santa Parade is making a return by popular demand. Jingle all the way as the parade spreads across different Whistler neighbourhoods from December 17 to 19.  

Save the dates: 

  • Wednesday, December 17 – NORTH end of Whistler
  • Thursday, December 18 – CENTRAL zone and Whistler Village 
  • Friday, December 19 – SOUTH end of Whistler

Wintersphere Whistler

Enjoy free festive activities at Whistler Conference Centre from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. on Saturday, December 20, 2025, to Saturday, January 3, 2026 (closed on Thursday, December 25, 2025). Take your own Santa photos from 1 to 3 p.m. on Monday, December 22, and Tuesday, December 23.  

New Year’s Eve in Whistler 

Celebrate the last night of the year surrounded by the energy of the mountains and the spirit of this community. Whistler’s New Year’s Eve brings people together with activities that invite you to move, connect, and take in the winter atmosphere. View the schedule of events.  

Landmarks of the Heart community art exhibition 

The Point Artist-Run Centre presents Landmarks of the Heart, a community art exhibition running throughout the winter season. Timed to coincide with the 50th anniversary of the Resort Municipality of Whistler’s founding, the show invites artists to respond to the theme of “Responding to layers of history: personal, ecological, communal.”

LUNA Whistler December programming 

Get ready for festive, creative, and competitive LUNA Whistler events this holiday season. December events include yoga, candle making, ping pong and present wrapping, a gingerbread house building contest, and a skate night. View the program lineup.  

Outdoor skating open daily at Whistler Olympic Plaza 

Join us in the heart of Whistler Village and glide into winter at the Whistler Olympic Plaza outdoor skating rink. Outdoor skating begins daily at 11 a.m. Visit our website for hours and more information. 

2025 co-ed adult sports nights

We have something for everyone, from basketball and soccer to volleyball, pickleball, and badminton. Register ahead of time, on your own or bring some friends for a fun night in a social atmosphere. View the schedule (PDF) and register now. 

NOTIFICATIONS 

Christmas tree permits 

To cut down a Christmas tree on unceded territories currently managed by the Province (Crown land), you need a Natural Resource Permit for the Sea to Sky region. Details and permit info are available on the Province of B.C. website

Water quality improvements for South Whistler now scheduled for January 2026 

To meet Health Canada’s updated guidelines and help protect your pipes, fittings and fixtures, we will be adjusting the pH levels in South Whistler’s water system. If you’re a business that relies on water, now’s the time to prepare for the pH change. Click the link for more information. 

Canada Post Strike

CONSTRUCTION 

RCMP renovation underway 

Please expect reduced parking at Municipal Hall, and increased construction activity, noise and traffic throughout this period. Construction is scheduled until April, 2026. 

GETTING AROUND  

Winter parking regulations in effect 

Whistler’s winter parking regulations are in effectfrom November 1 to March 31 to help keep roads and parking lots cleared:  

  • No even side parking Monday to Friday from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. (excluding holidays).
  • No odd side parking any time during the year.  
  • No overnight parking in the day lots or any other surface level lots in the winter to allow for snow clearing.
