Reducing the risk of wildfire starts at home. Assessments are now open for booking for homeowners and strata’s, and strata’s can also coordinate property workdays with the FireSmart team. Visit whistler.ca/firesmart to book an assessment, plan a workday and view the chipper schedule.
Attend a virtual public meeting on our Liquid Waste Management Plan on April 1
We are updating our Liquid Waste Management Plan (LWMP) to include the cost and schedule for a planned tertiary filtration upgrade at the Whistler Wastewater Treatment Plant. Attend a virtual public meeting on Wednesday, April 1, 2026, from 6 to 7 p.m. to hear a project update and share your feedback. Share questions with projects@whistler.ca.

Spring recreation program registration is underway for Whistler residents
We still have spaces left in select swimming lessons and fitness classes. If your first choice is full, jump on the waitlist — we do our best to add new classes when we can. Non-Whistler resident online registration begins this Saturday, March 28 at 11 a.m. Visit programs for details.
Meadow Park Sports Centre Spring pass promotion
This is not an April Fool’s joke. Get a fourth month free when you buy a three-month Meadow Park Sports Centre pass. Promotion dates are from Wednesday, April 1, to Thursday, April 30. The Snow Zone will remain open to slide and play until Sunday, March 29
The Snow Zone is still open. Bring your toboggan to Whistler Olympic Plaza until March 29.
Whistler Olympic Plaza lawn closed for grass renewal from Monday, March 30
The lawn at Whistler Olympic Plaza will be closed from Monday, March 30, while we regrow the grass for summer. The lawn is expected to reopen in mid-June, depending on weather.
Whistler Public Library statutory holiday hours
The library will be open as usual on Saturday, April 4, and Sunday, April 5. However, it will be closed on Good Friday, April 3, and Easter Monday, April 6.
Meadow Park Sports Centre statutory holiday hours
Meadow Park Sports Centre will be open from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. on Good Friday, April 3, and Easter Monday, April 6. These holiday hours help us manage costs while maintaining service levels. We apologize for any inconvenience. Plan your next visit with our activity schedules.

40 Books for 40 Years
Forty years ago, on August 27, 1986, Whistler Public Library opened its doors for the first time. The library team invites you to celebrate the 40th birthday with a reading challenge: 40 Books for 40 Years. Your challenge is to read 40 books this year – any genre, fiction or non-fiction, and physical books, e-books, and audiobooks are welcome. Winter parking regulations in effect
Whistler’s winter parking regulations are in effectfrom November 1 to March 31 to help keep roads and parking lots cleared:
- No even side parking Monday to Friday from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. (excluding holidays).
- No odd side parking any time during the year.
- No overnight parking in the day lots or any other surface level lots in the winter to allow for snow clearing.
WILDFIRE FUEL MANAGEMENT
Wildfire fuel management is underway on Alta Lake Road north
We are managing vegetation in partnership with the Cheakamus Community Forest to reduce wildfire risk along the north end of Alta Lake Road. The work is in the area shown on the map as unit 1. This includes the River Runs Through It trail and Rainbow Express trail area, north of the Whistler Cemetery, and the Rainbow Falls and lower Between the Creeks trail areas. Some trails in the area will have temporary closures: please respect all signs and staff for safety reasons because there will be machinery operating and tree falling. Wildfire fuel management will resume April 7 along Highway 99 in the Rainbow and Alpine Meadows neighbourhoods for around 3 to 4 weeks. There will be temporary Valley Trail detours and some intermittent closures in the area. See the treatment sites in images TU-1B and Zone D images.
CONSTRUCTION
Meadow Park rejuvenation work begins on April 7
Fully funded by the Province of B.C. through the Resort Municipality Initiative, this project will replace the Meadow Park playground, splash park and realign the Valley Trail. This project will also transition the ball fields into open greenspace with a fenced off-leash dog area. There will be varying closures within the parks and adjacent parking areas over the spring and summer while our crews complete this exciting project. Meadow Park playground and spray park close for construction from April 7 until November 30. Discover our other great locations to play.
RCMP renovation underway
Please expect reduced parking at Municipal Hall, and increased construction activity, noise and traffic throughout this period. Phase one of construction is scheduled until the end of April 2026.
