EVENTS
RBC GranFondo Whistler on Saturday, September 6
Expect major delays when travelling to or from Whistler on Saturday, September 6. Day Lot 4 will be closed to vehicles from 4 p.m. on Thursday, September 4 until 9 p.m. on Saturday, September 6. Day Lot 4 and 5 pass holders are welcome to use their pass to park in Day Lots 1, 2, 3, and 5 on the days that Day Lot 4 is closed for special event operations. GETTING AROUND
Valley Trail (VT) detours
The Valley Trail from the southeast end of Alpha Lake to the south end of Lake Placid Road is closed until Friday, September 5. A detour will be in place.
Free summer weekend transit
Free transit continues in Whistler every Saturday, Sunday and holiday Monday until Labour Day on Monday, September 1. Enjoy free transit in Whistler on Saturday, September 6 thanks to the Resort Municipality of Whistler. Download a transit schedule.
Bike Valet
The free summer Bike Valet continues until Labour Day on Monday, September 1, at the Whistler Village Olympic Plaza, Lost Lake Park and Rainbow Park. Did you use the bike valet this summer? Please complete the survey and share your input. View secure bike parking options.
Park And Play
Labour Day on Monday, September 1 is also the final day to enjoy the free Lost Lake Shuttle and Rainbow Park Shuttle. View the schedule and details on how to get to parks by transit.
NOTIFICATIONS
New Whistler web Map
We launched a new version of the Whistler Web Map on Wednesday, August 27. The new public-facing GIS has a similar look to the current one; however, there will be some differences. For guidance on how to use the map, view “Help” tab and the “Info” panel.
Fire danger rating and campfire ban
Whistler’s fire danger rating on Wednesday, August 27, is HIGH. A campfire ban is in effect in Whistler until September 15, 2025. The ban applies to all levels of fire danger rating, including low and moderate.
When the fire danger rating is high or extreme, a Wildfire Exemption Permit is required for high-risk construction activity and tree services within 10 metres of forest (or treed areas). This applies at any time of day.

PARKS AND TRAILS
Farside Trail in Cheakamus
Adaptive mountain bike trail improvements are ongoing; please expect short delays. Be mindful of equipment and crews working.
Bayly Park BMX track conversion project
A new bike skills park is under construction at Bayly Park. Please stay out of the area for crew and public safety.
The Western Toad migration at Lost Lake Park
The Western Toad migration is starting to wind down in Lost Lake Park as toads disperse throughout the park and trails begin to reopen. Please continue to watch your step and tread lightly. A section of the single-track hiking trail that runs along Blackcomb Creek, parallel to the Lost Lake Loop trail, is closed to protect migrating toads. A part of the Beach Cut Trail and the single-track hiking trail on the west shoreline of Lost Lake also remain closed. There are no other impacts to Lost Lake Park. River of Golden Dreams (ROGD) mandatory portage
Due to low water levels on the RODG there is a mandatory portage in effect between the new fish weir and the other side of the CN rail bridge at the bottom of Lorimer Road. Please follow all signage.
Park Eats
Food trucks are in Lakeside Park, Lost Lake Park and Rainbow Park daily until Labour Day on Monday, September 1. Check out the schedule.
Comfortably Numb bridge replacement
The Wedge Bridge (Al Grey Memorial) on Comfortably Numb Trail is being replaced with a new cable suspension bridge. The bridge is closed to the public until Monday, September 8. Access between Wedge and Lost Lake via Comfortably Numb is unavailable. Comfortably Numb North will remain accessible via Young Lust and Comfortably Numb South via a Grey Zone detour. FACILITIES AND RECREATION
Annual maintenance at Meadow Park Sports Centre
The full facility is closed until Monday, September 1 and the pool remains closed until Tuesday, September 16. Upgrades include pool painting, changeroom refinishing, sauna repairs, and deep cleaning. Check activity schedules for the best times to play once we reopen.
CONSTRUCTION
Sewer and water main repairs on Blackcomb Way and Mons Road
Repairs are in progress at several locations, including Blackcomb Way and Mons Road. Expect minor delays and single-lane alternating traffic from Tuesday, September 2, to Friday, September 5.
South Whistler Water Supply Upgrade: Function Junction, Cheakamus Crossing, Creekside and surrounding areas
Work continues on the new South Whistler Water Supply Booster Pump Station until Tuesday, September 23. During this period, residents may notice intermittent discolouration in your water. If this occurs, please run your taps until the water runs clear. You may also detect a chlorine taste or odour in the water. These effects are temporary and will return to normal once the work is complete.
WATER MAIN FLUSHING
Unidirectional flushing in the Brio neighbourhood
Watch for signage at the entrance to the neighbourhood, as it will indicate when we are flushing in the area. At these times, you should limit or avoid using water. Water pressure may be affected and there may be colour in the water. After flushing for the day is complete, please run taps until water is clear. Learn more about water main flushing.
FUEL THINNING
Stonebridge
Fuel thinning in the Whistler Stonebridge treatment unit is underway. Beaver Pass, Whip Me Snip Me, Rainbow Lake, and Lower Beaver Pass trails will be closed to ensure safety to the public. Click the link for more info and to view the map of affected trails.
