Thank you Whistler!

What an unforgettable four days! Our community came together from August 21 to 24 to celebrate 50 incredible years of the Resort Municipality of Whistler — honouring the Trailblazers who shaped our past and the Tomorrow Makers leading us forward.

The celebrations continued through the fall with ongoing events and exhibitions co-hosted with resort partners including Whistler Museum, Whistler Public Library, Arts Whistler, The Point Artist-Run Centre, Whistler Writers Festival, WORCA and more.

This winter we pass the anniversary torch to Whistler Blackcomb who are celebrating their 60th anniversary.

Celebrating Trailblazers to Tomorrow Makers

The Municipality of Whistler turned 50 in 2025 — and we invited the community and guests to celebrate with a vibrant four-day event series from August 21 to 24, 2025, followed by community-focused events into the fall. This was a tribute to Whistler’s adventurous roots and a celebration of the community shaping its future.

The celebration continues…

After an unforgettable August launch, the celebration continues into fall with events that illuminate local culture, creativity, and community—honouring the past while looking ahead.

Whistler Museum

Join the Whistler Museum on September 6 to November 23 for the launch of a new exhibition exploring the RMOW Act and its impact on Whistler’s past, present, and future. The evening will also offer a first look at concept plans for the future Whistler Museum, with models and renderings on display. This special event marks the beginning of the Museum’s capital fundraising campaign and invites the community to be part of shaping what comes next.

Hosting your own event?

If you’re planning something in your neighbourhood or business that aligns with the Municipality’s 50th celebration, let us know. We’d love to include it in our calendar.
