Parks and trails

Whistler boasts an amazing collection of parks, lakes, hiking and biking trails, and outdoor recreation spots, offering everything from days on the beach to overnight hikes into the alpine.

Dogs in Whistler

Dogs in Whistler must be leashed at all times and under the control of the owner when using parks and trails, unless in designated off-leash areas or beaches. Letting dogs off leash in parks, beaches, trails can create conflicts with other animals, wild animals, and other users.

Dogs are also banned on various hiking and biking trails in provincial parks and lands, such as Cheakamus Lake and Rainbow/Sproatt trails. Know before you go.
