This sculpture celebrates Kokanee Salmon that spawn in the nearby River of Golden Dreams and Crabapple Creek. Kokanee Salmon are Sockeye Salmon that live their whole lives in fresh water.

A Beaver is featured on top of the left post since beaver dams along both rivers improve habitat for these fish. Dams slow water and create wetlands which improves access to food (aquatic bugs) and places to hide (deeper water and more vegetation cover).
